It is year-end and NAMRIA officials, employees, and visitors celebrated this with the theme #MaPaSaNAMRIA or #Maligayang Pasko sa NAMRIA. The celebration was held at the NAMRIA basketball court on 22 December 2016 and started with an early raffle. The Holy Mass was officiated by Rev. Larry A. Ramos of the Diocese of San Pablo City, Laguna.

The welcome remarks were given by Resource Data Analysis Branch (RDAB) Director, Rizaldia N. Santos, Ph.D. RDAB hosted this year’s year-end celebration. NAMRIA Administrator Peter N. Tiangco delivered an inspirational message wherein he thanked the Lord for the blessings and guidance in order for the agency to cope with the challenges it encountered in accomplishing the targets of the year. He also thanked the employees for their support, hard work, and high level of commitment. Part of the occasion was the awarding of service and special plaques to distinguished employees. 

 

The NAMRIA Cultural and Cheer Dance groups performed the numbers which won them first and second places, respectively at the DENR year-end assembly 2016 competitions. NAMRIA was the overall winner in the various competitions held for the 2016 DENR Year-End Employees’ General Assembly. In addition, Mr. Froilan Canlas, a semi-finalist in the Tawag ng Tanghalan contest of the ABS-CBN Showtime television program, rendered songs for NAMRIA employees.

As part of the occasion, there were branch presentations with the theme “Original Pilipino Music with Christmas Spirit.” The RDAB stood out (96.33%) among the presentations, followed by Support Services Branch (96%), and Mapping and Geodesy Branch (95.67%). The occasion ended with another raffle sponsored by the Organization of NAMRIA Employees led by its President, this writer.
