NAMRIA presents HROD journey in LCHRMPs convention

The Civil Service Commission – National Capital Region hosted the 6th Luzon Convention of Human Resource Management Practitioners (LCHRMPs) with the theme "Organizational Change and Transformation: How HRMPs Can Lead Change." It was held at the Philippine lnternational Convention Center (PICC), CCP Complex, Pasay City last 28 – 30 November 2016. The convention is held annually to provide a venue for learning and networking amongst HRM practitioners from various government agencies and local government units of the Luzon region. These HRM practitioners, through their contributions in managing and sustaining change, seek to serve the public better.

NAMRIA Deputy Administrator (DA)  Efren Carandang, one of the session  presenters,  delivered a well-received sharing on NAMRIA’s Human Resource and Organizational Development (HROD) journey entitled, “Putting NAMRIA’s HR Strategy on the Map: Linking Innovations and Operations". DA Carandang cited NAMRIA flagship HR initiatives such as the Competency Based System, Strategic HR Plan, Career Pathing, and Succession Planning. He identified strategies in addressing HR issues; and mechanisms and interventions in management of human resources. He gave emphasis on the transformational changes which led the agency HRM to its current state as a Maturity Level II in regard to the Civil Service Commission Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM).

The sharing about the journey was made complete through the recall of challenges and lessons learned along the way. He concluded the presentation by expressing the agency’s desire for continual improvement by updating the NAMRIA Strategic Plan, working on PRIME-HRM  Level III indicators, and modernizing HR infrastructure. The session ended with a Question and Answer segment where participants expressed their appreciation and desire to set NAMRIA’s accomplishments as benchmarks in human resource management.
