In his speech, DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu stressed the significance and importance of maps by narrating his experience back in the day wherein he and his troops were surrounded by rebel troops. The only way out was through artillery bombardment on their left side where there was a heavy concentration of rebel forces. Due to the proximity of the rebels to their position, he needed to give the exact coordinates for the bombardment. If not for the accuracy of the maps he used, it would not have been successful.
