NDCC celebrates unity, celebrates United Nations Day

The NAMRIA Day Care Center (NDCC) celebrated the United Nations Day on 20 October 2017 at the NAMRIA Lecture Hall in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. With the theme “International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development,” it featured the NDCC pupils wearing the national costumes of some of the UN countries.

The event started with a prayer from the NDCC pupils, followed by the singing of the National Anthem led by Lucas Andrew L. Bartolome. Support Services Branch (SSB) Director Febrina A. Damaso gave the opening remarks, wherein she said that the parents should cherish moments like this with their children as these are the memories that they can look back to someday.

NDCC Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) President Zenaida A. Leaño gave an inspirational message in which she mentioned that this is an opportunity to share the Filipino culture and ideas to the different countries of the world.  Afterwards, the NDCC children presented the costumes of their chosen countries, followed by a showcase of their talents, and a hula dance presentation.

Awards were given to the NDCC children for the following categories:
Best in Costume – Amanda Brielle B. Acle (Korea)
Best in Talent – Yonna Kayleen C. Leaño (Cuba)
Darling of the Crowd – Asia Trinity A. Guzon (Hawaii, USA)
Ms. United Nations – Erich Panes (Spain)
Mr. United Nations – Qinn Aedan B. Campaña (Brazil)

Closing the event was Administrative Division Chief Concepcion A. Bringas, in here she acknowledged the fathers being more involved in the activities of their kids as it should.  This is one of the most important times in their lives so the presence of the fathers really mean a lot.

The judges for the event were Jeffrey A. Quodala of GISMB, Arlene M. Balauro of SSB, and Josephine O. Ferrer of RDAB while the emcee was Ms. Rechelle B. Vicencio.
