NAMRIA, through its Bayanihang Bayan Desk (BBD), distributed 350 bags containing basic goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. The distribution was held at the Barangay Altura Bata covered court, Tanauan City, Province of Batangas on 25 February 2020. A total of 322 barangay households benefitted from the undertaking.
The program started with a prayer, then was immediately followed by the welcome message of Altura Bata Barangay Chairperson Felix S. Vispo. Chairperson Vispo thanked NAMRIA for its benevolence and compassion toward his ka-barangays. He acknowledged the presence of NAMRIA officials, Mapping and Geodesy Branch (MGB) Assistant Director Ofelia T. Castro and NAMRIA Chief of Staff (COS) Rowena E. Bongalos.
On behalf of the NAMRIA Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco, PhD, this writer, the NAMRIA BBD Focal Person, thanked the officials and members of the barangay for warmly welcoming the team. He also gave them the assurance, ”Makakaasa po kayong lahat na kami sa NAMRIA ay patuloy na mananalangin para sa inyong pagbangon mula sa sakunang idinulot ng pagputok ng Bulkang Taal.”
With the assistance of the barangay officials, MGB Assistant Director Castro and COS Bongalos led the distribution of the relief goods. Aside from the relief goods, hygiene packs and pre-loved toys were distributed to women and children of the barangay.
