NAMRIA calls on its employees to be agile and future-ready during 122nd PCSA virtual kick off program

NAMRIA kicked off its month-long observance of the 122nd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) with a virtual program via Facebook Live on 05 September 2022. This year’s PCSA bears the 10-year overarching theme Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant-Heroes, which was initially carried during the 2021 PCSA. The thematic focus of this year’s observance is on resilience.
 
The program proper comprised of the prayer and singing of the Philippine national anthem by the NAMRIA Chorale; the Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat ng Pilipinas, the NAMRIA Service Pledge, and the Panunumpa ng Lingkod Bayan respectively recited by Organization of NAMRIA Employees (ONE) Secretary Jeffrey A. Quodala, Deputy Administrator John Santiago F. Fabic, and Deputy Administrator Efren P. Carandang. The Credo of the Public Servant of former Civil Service Commissioner Amado T. del Rosario was read by Support Services Branch (SSB) Dir. Concepcion A. Bringas; Geospatial Information System Management Branch (GISMB) Dir. Febrina E. Damaso; Resource Data Analysis Branch (RDAB) Dir. Ofelia T. Castro; Hydrography Branch (HB) Officer in Charge (OIC)-Dir., Capt. Antonio G. Valenzuela, Jr.; and Mapping and Geodesy Branch (MGB) Dir. Ruel DM. Belen. The PCSA activities were announced by Administrative Division-SSB OIC-Chief, Atty. Jessie M. Racimo.

In his inspirational message, NAMRIA Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco, PhD said that “Working in the government is not mere employment per se. It is a vocation that allows us to continuously improve in our chosen fields while helping our communities at the same time.” He also encouraged “everyone to remain agile and future-ready as the Filipino people need us now more than ever.”

NAMRIA’s month-long observance of the 122nd PCSA is categorized into four sub-themes with corresponding activities: (1) Linggo ng Lingkod Bayani – physical and digital display of the PCSA banner in NAMRIA offices in Taguig (Fort Bonifacio) and Manila (San Nicolas), Magnetics Observatory, survey vessels, NAMRIA website and other social media accounts, virtual exhibit activities, virtual fun run/walk, Zumba or Cardio Boxing, and NAMRIA Thanksgiving Mass; (2) Linggo ng Paglilinang ng Yamang Tao – Parsing and Reframing: Tools to Rewrite A Healthy Mind, webinar series on Modern Mapping and Surveying, NAMRIA Onboarding Program: Orientation for New Employees, Values Orientation Program: Creating A Positive Professional Image, 2022 Public Sector HR Symposium, NAMRIA Awareness Program: Towards an Agile and Future-Ready Organization, and NAMRIA Retirement Program, which consists of three modules – Financial and Enterprise Planning Workshop for would-be retirees, Health and Wellness: Gradual Reduction of Stressful Work Detox Program, and Creative Workshop, Lifestyle Coaching, Pursuit of Rewarding Hobby; (3) Linggo ng Malasakit – photo book cover design contest, information campaign on anti-drug awareness, 5S jingle contest, and online/live selling; and (4) Linggo ng Pasasalamat – oath-taking ceremony for new and promoted employees, and culminating program featuring NAMRIA loyalty awardees and a virtual appreciation hour.
