NAMRIA hurdles remote ISO surveillance audit
Accreditations | Annrou R. Ramos | 8 August 2022 | Print

NAMRIA has successfully hurdled this year’s ISO surveillance audit for its continued certification to ISO 9001:2015. The audit was held online on 01-02 August 2022 by Certification International Philippines, Inc. (CIP). The CIP Audit Team was composed of Ms. Sofia S. Mangahas as Team Leader with Ms. Lyn Angela M. Cayetano and Mr. Renato G. Madrid, Jr. as Team Members. This year’s surveillance audit was conducted to assess the maintenance and effectiveness of the management system against specified requirements for continued certification.

Following the two-day audit, the CIP Audit Team reported three minor non-conformities (NC) on the following areas: Clause 9.1.3 (Evaluation of the effectiveness of actions taken to address risks and opportunities and evaluation on the performance of external providers); Clause 6.1 (Actions to address risks and opportunities taking into consideration Clauses 4.1 on Issues and Clause 4.2 on Interested Parties); and Clause 10.2 (Addressing the NC and Corrective Action on unmet quality objectives, including Key Performance Indicators and target). Given the foregoing, NAMRIA will facilitate a resolution of the NCs and submit its corrective action report to CIP.

During the closing meeting, Deputy Administrator John SF. Fabic, on behalf of NAMRIA Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco, PhD, thanked the CIP for their continued guidance to NAMRIA’s Quality Management System on Mapping and Geospatial Information Management. As a way forward, NAMRIA has been able to harmonize and consolidate the current quality policy, citizen’s charter’s service pledge, and public service continuity policy into “The NAMRIA Service Pledge.” The agency has also enhanced its quality objectives and revised its strategic objectives.
