NAMRIA is mandated to provide the public with mapmaking services and to act as the central mapping agency, depository, and distribution facility for natural resources data in the form of maps, charts, texts, and statistics.

Vision: NAMRIA is a center of excellence, building an inclusive and geospatially-empowered Philippines.

Mission: To provide quality topographic maps, nautical charts, and other geospatial products and services in a timely, equally accessible, and coordinated manner.

In line with the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority's (NAMRIA) ongoing capacity-building efforts in Geographic Information System (GIS) and support to the continuous clean up, rehabilitation, and restoration of Manila Bay, the agency conducted an in-person training using the QGIS software held at the White Corals Beach Resort in Morong, Bataan from 17-21 June 2024. Representatives from the Regional Manila Bay Site Coordinating Offices across various regions, including Region III, IV-A, and National Capital Region, and personnel from the Manila Bay Coordinating Office (MBCO) attended the activity.

 The Sub-Committee on Undersea Feature Names (SCUFN) accepted the 25 Philippine-submitted undersea feature names (UFN) during its 37th meeting in Jeju Island, South Korea on 24-28 June 2024. The acceptance of the 25 UFN in the Philippine Sea constitutes a success for the Philippines as 100% of the names it submitted in 2024 were accepted by the SCUFN.

To promote a culture of research, development, and extension within the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA), the organization partnered with Global Hub for Growth, Inc. (GHG) to conduct its first Executive Course on Research, Development, and Extension (RD&E) held from December 2023 to June 2024. The Policy and Planning Division spearheaded the training, in collaboration with the Human Resource Development Section-Administrative Division and with the support of NAMRIA Administrator Usec. Peter N. Tiangco, PhD, CESO I.

Alert Level 2 hoisted as Mt. Kanlaon erupts BACOLOD CITY – A 5,000-meter high plume lights up the dark sky as Mt. Kanlaon in Negros Island erupted after sundown on Monday (June 3, 2024). The Phivolcs has hoisted Alert Level 2 over Negros while Canlaon City Mayor Jose Cardenas has ordered the evacuation of four barangays in the danger zone.

Do you produce road maps?
NAMRIA produces topographic maps that are used as base maps for other thematic maps like land cover, land condition, land classification, cadastral, etc. In addition, we have digital data of road maps available. This data comes from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
