NAMRIA Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco, PhD, gave his approval and support to the request of DENR Region IV-B (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan [MIMAROPA]) Regional Gender and Development Focal Point System (RGADFPS) Chairperson, Assistant Regional Director (ARD) for Management Services (MS) Donna Mayor-Gordove to benchmark the NAMRIA Gender and Development Information System (GADIS). A meeting for the purpose was held at the boardroom of the NAMRIA Fort Andres Bonifacio office, Taguig City on 11 July 2023. The NAMRIA GADIS is a web-based information system for the collection and maintenance of sex-disaggregated information, which also stores relevant documentation for the planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of GAD-mainstreamed projects of the agency.

 

The NAMRIA Gender and Development Focal Point System (NGFPS) officials and members who joined the members of DENR Region IV-B MIMAROPA RGADFPS for the benchmarking were Executive Committee (ExeCom) Chairperson, OIC-DA Ofelia T. Castro; Technical Working Group (TWG) on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Head Focal Person (HFP), Resource Data Analysis Branch OIC Sylvia L. Esperanza and member Fatima A. Santos; TWG on Information, Education, and Communication Assistant Focal Person (AFP) Jeffrey A. Quodala; and Secretariat HFP Jeanevie T. Habitan, AFP Leah Katrina A. Angeles, and member Monaliza M. Espiritu. NAMRIA GADIS developer, Homer Paulo R. Macawili and event photographer, Mr. Vener Quintin C. Taguba, Jr., both assigned at the Geospatial Information System Management Branch, were also present in the meeting.

 

 

The meeting started with the self-introductions made by the participants, followed by the opening remarks of OIC-DA Castro. Assisted by Ms. Santos, Mr. Macawili then demonstrated the functionalities of the various modules of the NAMRIA GADIS, namely: Data Builder, Data Viewer, Report Generator, Report Maintenance, User Maintenance, Category Maintenance, and Logs.

 

 

OIC-DA Castro, Ms. Esperanza, Ms. Santos, and Mr. Macawili addressed the queries raised by the contingent from the DENR Region IV-B MIMAROPA RGADFPS. Those present in the meeting also agreed that the source code of the NAMRIA GADIS and capacity building on the use of GADIS will be provided to DENR Region IV-B MIMAROPA as soon as the memorandum of agreement is signed.

 

 

On behalf of DENR Region IV-B MIMAROPA MS ARD Mayor-Gordove, Mr. Saludo and RGADFPS Secretariat Head, Ms. Maria Grace Toledo thanked NAMRIA and the NGFPS for the warm accommodation given to them. They also expressed appreciation for the help extended to them, especially for the forthcoming provision of the source code of the NAMRIA GADIS.
